Community Engagement

Community starts with showing up.

Community engagement is how TCD becomes a familiar, welcoming presence throughout Thurston County.

We bring Democrats together, represent TCD at public events, create opportunities for connection, and help our organization remain active in community life throughout the year.

The work

Keep TCD connected to the community.

This committee helps TCD listen well, remain visible, and build relationships that last longer than a single event or election.

01

Listen

Build genuine relationships with residents, neighborhood leaders, civic groups, and community organizations throughout Thurston County.

02

Bring people together

Create friendly, accessible gatherings where people can meet, exchange ideas, ask questions, and get to know one another.

03

Show up

Represent TCD at local events and community spaces—not simply when we need something, but as a dependable neighbor and partner.

04

Open the door

Help interested people move from a first conversation into attending an event, joining a committee, helping a campaign, etc.

Rooted across Thurston

Every community deserves to be heard.

Good engagement begins with respect for the character, history, relationships, and everyday concerns of the people who live here.

01

Listen where people live

Reach beyond familiar political spaces and hear directly from neighbors in every part of the county.

02

Respect local character

Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater, our smaller cities and towns, and rural Thurston each bring distinct experiences to our shared civic life.

03

Build lasting trust

Stay present between elections, follow through on conversations, and become a reliable part of community life.
